Our Philosophy
We believe that every person skilled in the methods of peacemaking has the potential to pass these skills on to every person that they interact with. We see this as a far-reaching rippling of
peace; person-to-person, action-by-action, thought-by-thought. We begin with the children, believing that by teaching them how to peacefully solve their playground squabbles, we are preventing wars.
We aim to equip children (and adults) with the tools necessary to live their lives from a place of peace and nomviolence. We believe that happy and peaceful children grow into happy and peaceful adults and that only a community of peace-respecting adults can bring about lasting change in our world.
The North Texas Peace Learning Center is committed to peaceful education. No coercion is used in any way, nor are punitive measures ever taken. We firmly believe that children will learn what they are called to learn, when we, as eductors, speak to their souls. We believe that learning takes place best when the child's entire being is engaged; therefore all activities include options for creative self expression.
